A quite demanding tour is the high route Raschötzer, which is pretty long and requires lot of stamina. Tourists, who prefer a more comfortable walk or want to go to the top with the whole family, can take the chairlift Raschötz und from there walk up to the peak Außerraschötz. Ortisei is situated in the middle of the Val Gardena Dolomites and in summer it is the ideal destination for bike holidays. Ortisei is characterized in particular through its chalets and impressive massifs, the Seceda on the East side and the Alpe di Siusi in the South. In Ortisei road bike riders, mountain bikers and amateur cyclists can find each their own.
Many bike trips and also the well-known Gardenaronda – the Val Gardena 4 cableway tour – start from Ortisei. You can find a widespread choice for cosy bike tours with the whole family as well as demanding tours for ambitious mountain bikers. The Sellaronda and the popular Dolomite passes offer superb view and unforgettable moments.

Every 10 minutes the ski bus – which stops just in front of our hotel – carries you to the centre of Ortisei, from where you can easily reach the Alpe di Siusi and the Seceda and accordingly all other ski lifts.
Snow shoe hiking
Snow shoe hiking is a particularly kind experience of nature and a well-liked alternative to the ski touring. In the heart of the Dolomites you can greatly enjoy the silence of the nature and reach the most stunning spots, alpine pastures and lodges.
It’s not necessary to have background knowledge for this winter sport. Equipped with large snow shoes on your feet, you move in untouched deep powder snow land, past crystal clear course of streams and dreamy farms. Snow shoe hiking in Val Gardena is recreational fun for the whole family and the unpolluted, clear air in the alpine world can work miracles on body and soul.

Starting from Ortisei, from the upper terminus of the funicular, a 6 km well-prepared sleding track leads down into the valley. Also the Alpe di Siusi offers a lot of wonderful luge trails, altogether seven with lengths between 1,4 and 4,7 km.
We would also like to make our guests aware of the fact that for safety reasons it´s forbidden to sleding on ski slopes.
Cross country skiing
Val Gardena with his three villages S. Cristina, Ortisei and Selva Gardena is paradisiac for cross country skiing. More than 98 kilometres of trails – mostly double groomed – are available and lead through the imposing heart of the Dolomites. The stunning panorama, the equal ratio between demanding and easy skating trails attracts numerous cross country skiing fans to Ortisei in Val Gardena. Well prepared cross-country ski trails go past snowy scenery and glistening snow field. On the way, characteristic lodges invite to make a stop and many a person spends unforgettable moments with locals.
